There were many such instances which needed his attention, by keeping an eye on these he was also firmly working on to make foreign relations stronger and suddenly he came from nowhere and dropped the demonetisation and ended the year on high and since then he is on a hunt against the corrupts.
2. Sushma Swaraj / Suresh Prabhu
The Minister of Foreign Affairs is now admitted and over going a kidney transplant in Delhi. But not before she was in news the whole year for evacuating fellow Indians from countries where peace was compromised. Along with PM Modi she has taken equal lead in foreign affairs, holding grand rallies abroad for the diaspora, Sushma Swaraj has played the role of a perfect anchor in the government.She actively helps out Indians in distress overseas, who often approach her directly on Twitter, something which has earned her immense goodwill. A CA by proffession Suresh Prabhu made news when he brought new rules in the resevation system in the Railways. He brought fresh capital into the Railways and stayed away from populist measures. He is never tired and you can find him in his office whenever he is in the city, a soft-spoken and down to earth personality, Prabhu is often seen with his pet dog. Under his supervision, Railways has done a great job answering the queries and helping out people in real time basis.
3. Justice Thakur
He has a reputation of taking tough decisions when he seems convinced. As the CJI you have a tough job to do. He issued a string of directives to counter rising pollution and made sure that strict monitoring should follow regularly. The BCCI is on the run and that’s the first time this giant board looks compromising in front of the Supreme Court, thanks to Justice Thakur for implementing rules under the vision of his predecessor Justice Lodha.
4. Cyrus Mistry
An Irish businessman of Indian origin who was the chairman of Tata Group, between 2012 to 2016. The board of Tata Sons (the group’s holding company) voted to remove Mistry from the post of chairman. The group has since been in news regarding the allegations from both the sides.
5. Raghuram Rajan / Urjit Patel
The RBI governor who served the post for 3 years. Raghuram Rajan is said to be blunt while saying. He warned the government against straying from fiscal consolidation and raising questions about the GDP. He left the post and went to the academics to teach, as his interest lied there. Later on Urijit Patel close of Mukesh Ambani, was appointed to the position. This raised many eyebrows as he belonged to Gujarat, the home town for PM Modi and the Ambani’s.
6. Sakshi Malik, Deepa Karmakar, PV Sindhu
The Rio Olympics would have been a disappointment if the trio didn’t have bought the medal. The likes of Abhinav Bindra and Yogeshwar Dutt slipped by a margin to win a medal each. But Sakshi won the bronze medal in the 58 kg category, becoming the first Indian female wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics and the fourth female Olympic medalist from the country and after her PV Sindhu raised the bar a bit higher and won the Silver medal in badminton and became the only second badminton player after Saina Nehwal to win a medal in the Olympics in Badminton. They returned to a grand welcome in the country and were honored by their respective state governments.
7. Mukesh Ambani
The owner of Reliance, which owns runs the largest private sector company in the oil and gas sector with a market capitalisation of close to Rs 3,05,000 crore. The senior Ambani is now has remained the Richest Indian for close to a decade. Like his father, Late. Dhirubhai Ambani he launched JIO Calling and Internet facilities by providing it free for a limited period time, this was a boom in the telecom sector as rival companies who were enjoying their luxury by charging expensive rates, slashed their charges, thanks to JIO.
8. Arvind Kejriwal
The CM of Delhi often known as the drama queen of politics, without any offense, thanks to his statements and comments in media against PM Modi. He never misses an opportunity to take on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government. Arvind Kejriwal enjoys the luxury by staying in news and having the best coverage. He has done some good job as well, the Odd-Even Scheme was a good action taken to combat the pollution but failed to continue it on a regular issue. He never misses a movie and is always there to share the reviews.
9. Baba Ramdev & Acharya Balkrishna
Being a Yoga Guru and by making the whole do Kapaalbhaati every morning he became a household name. His policies for supporting home-based production made him launch Patanjali Products which climbed the top within no time and did a turnover of 2000 crores. Being a multi-tasker is not easy and that too, when you have to juggle between yoga, entrepreneurship and politics simultaneously. There were some controversies as well, regarding his products which lacked the FSSAI norms. But he came up cleaned. He is now tough a man to deal with and by the support of the central government, he is in cruise mode. His close aide Acharya Balkrishna, who use to tell us the ayurveda usage and homely remedies of plants and herbs played a very big role in building the Patanjali Empire. He was man behind the strategies and the in-charge of all operations.
10. Virat Kohli
The current captain of the Test side and the best batsman in the circuit all through the format. This man is always in the news, thanks to his all round capabilities ranging between a top class cricketer to an entrepreneur, to a person who shoots for advertisement and then playing in the marathon IPL event. He is everywhere. The second best batsman in Test, the second in ODI and the number one in T20’s. He is on his way to become a modern day great.

A Delhi guy who went on sharing his vines under the name “BB ki Vines” became a famous name and then went on to become a famous YouTuber from India. He also collaborated with TVF and made videos with them. This year turned out to be a gem of a year for him and now he is also geared up for Bollywood films. Bollywood calling my friend.
12. Priyanka Chopra & Deepika Padukone
Priyanka Chopra went to the west and grabbed a Hollywood project alongside superstar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Zac Efron, she is playing a major part in ‘Baywatch’ which will release in 2017. She also played the lead in American Drama Series ‘Quantico’ and will reprise the role in the second season as well. On the other Deepika Padukone who was critically praised for her roles in ‘Raam-leela’ and ‘Bajira-Mastani’ went on the path of Priyanka and grabbed a film opposite Vin Diesel in ‘XXX -The Return of Xander Cage’.

By giving back to back superhits like Airlift, Rustom and Housefull 3, Akshay Kumar creating a league of his own. He has been one of the highest taxpayers this year and also found love from the critics as well. He is one of the highest paid actors in the world and the business of his films have crossed an overall business of $20 Billion, he is the only Bollywood actor to reach this mark. On the other hand Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who didn’t had a good past came all guns firing and now has the reputation of working with all the three Khan’s of Bollywood. He has always been the favourite of critics and starred in 4 movies this year all critically and commercially success as compared to their budget.
14. Aamir Khan
Mr. Perfectionist now has now changed his name to Mr. Passionate. The first half of the year was not too good because of his remarks on intolerant India and he was widely criticized for this statement. Later, on he was working on a biopic based on Mahavir Phogat’s life, for which he gained 30 kilos and then lost the same. Ohhh !! Gym Goals??
15. Kanhaiya Kumar
Some students of JNU held a protest about the capital punishment of Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat the students were the former members of the Democratic Students Union (DSU), the college authorities didn’t permitted for such events but still the students went, there were many slogans raised by the students there they included phrases like “Kashmir ki azadi tak jung chalegi, Bharat ki barbadi tak jung chalegi” (“War will continue till Kashmir’s freedom, war will continue till India’s demolition”). The students of the ABVP went against them and complained about it.The University inquiry found a number of students to have violated University rules, they took strict actions and imposed fines to rustication on 21 students. The students went on a hunger strike. 4 days after the event JNU Students Union President was arrested by Delhi Police on charges on sedition. These made news and made him an overnight star. Political parties like AAP, Congress, CPI, CPI (M) stood in support of Kanhaiya Kumar.
