3. Mother Teresa

Recognized for his passionate commitment as a journalist, received the 2007 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Journalism, Literature, and Creative Communication Arts, the board of trustees recognizes his passionate commitment as a journalist to restore the rural poor to India’s consciousness, moving the nation to action.
8. Shantha Sinha
Chairperson of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights received the 2003 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Community Leadership, the board of trustees recognizes her guiding the people of Andhra Pradesh to end the scourge of child labor and send all of their children to school.
9. Sandeep Pandey
A Social activist who has been sacked by the Banaras Hindu University on charges of being a “Naxalite”, engaging in “anti-national” activities and screening a banned documentary on the campus. 10. Rajendra Singh
A well-known water conservationist from Alwar district, Rajasthan. known as ‘waterman of India’ received the 2001 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Community Leadership, the board of trustees recognizes his leading Rajasthani villagers in the steps of their ancestors to rehabilitate their degraded habitat and bring its dormant rivers back to life.
11. Aruna Roy
An Indian political and social activist who founded and heads the Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathana (“Workers and Peasants Strength Union”) received the 2000 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Community Leadership, the board of trustees recognizes her empowering Indian villagers to claim what is rightfully theirs by upholding and exercising the people’s right to information.
12. Jayapraksh Narayan

13. Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay

14. M.S. Subbulakshmi
She was a Carnatic vocalist and also the first musician ever to be awarded the Bharat Ratna.
